We are selective so customers trust every Zulma Pro. Cleaning experience helps but is not required. Many of our top earners started with none.

- Reliable transportation to job sites across the Niagara region
- Smartphone with iOS 15+ or Android 11+
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check (~$55, paid in person to your local police)
- WHMIS 2015 online training (free providers available)
- Your own $2M Commercial General Liability policy (~$40 to $80/month, required by our insurer)
- Three professional references (cleaning experience preferred, not required)

Common questions
Am I an employee or an independent contractor?+
An independent contractor. You set your hours, choose which jobs to accept, use your own supplies, and report income via a T4A at year-end. We follow the Ontario Digital Platform Workers' Rights Act, with full pay transparency on every job before you accept.
How much do Pros actually earn?+
It varies by hours and specialty. A full-time Pro doing 4 to 5 standard cleans a day earns roughly $1,200 to $1,700 per week including tips. Specialists in deep cleans, move-outs, or post-construction earn more. You keep up to 75% of every job plus 100% of tips.
Why do I need my own $2M insurance if Zulma is insured?+
Zulma carries a $5M umbrella that covers our platform and backstops you for catastrophic claims. Our insurer requires every Pro to also carry their own $2M policy as front-line coverage for the work you do. It protects you personally and strengthens your standing as a true independent business under CRA rules. Most sole-prop cleaners in Ontario pay $40 to $80 a month.
Do I need my own supplies?+
Most Pros bring their own. We offer an optional bulk-purchase program for products and equipment at a discount, and customers can provide supplies if you prefer. The kit is always optional and never required to get work.
