- WHMIS 2015 online training (free providers available)

Common questions
Am I an employee or an independent contractor?+
An independent contractor. You set your hours, choose which jobs to accept, use your own supplies, and report income via a T4A at year-end. We follow the Ontario Digital Platform Workers' Rights Act, with full pay transparency on every job before you accept.
How much do Pros actually earn?+
It varies by hours and specialty. A full-time Pro doing 4 to 5 standard cleans a day earns roughly $1,200 to $1,700 per week including tips. Specialists in deep cleans, move-outs, or post-construction earn more. You keep up to 75% of every job plus 100% of tips.
Why do I need my own $2M insurance if Zulma is insured?+
Zulma carries a $5M CGL policy for Zulma's own platform-level liability. It does not insure you, which is exactly what the contractor agreement you sign says. Your own $2M policy is the front-line coverage for the work you do: it responds for you, your insurer acts for you specifically, and carrying it strengthens your standing as a genuinely independent business under CRA rules. Most sole-prop cleaners in Ontario pay $40 to $80 a month.
Do I need my own supplies?+
Most Pros bring their own. We offer an optional bulk-purchase program for products and equipment at a discount, and customers can provide supplies if you prefer. The kit is always optional and never required to get work.
